Portable Operating Chair
It's a scary thought picturing this chair in use. It's early and could be from WW1.
There are a number of things that make this chair different...It comes apart and has fold up legs, it's also light which makes it portable.
The back and foot rest are an early use of aluminum.Portable makes me think this it was for a mobile military medical unit.
The head restraint is very unusual and gives the chair a sinister feel.
Note that there are many adjustments for the head halo and head rest as well as a large crank to raise and lower the chair.
Mainly it can recline to almost a horizontal position. It has the original patina and just the right look.
